Glacier National Park wildlife is varied and dazzling with lynx, wolves, bighorn sheep, mule deer, elk, moose, white-tailed deer, coyote, mountain lions, there is even evidence that the rare wolverine resides in Glacier National Park. Glacier National Park, MT history dates back far before white settlers pioneered the lands. Elevated in status from a forest reserve to a United States national park by President William Howard Taft in 1910, the designation helped the government keep the Native American Blackfoot tribe from their traditional home lands.
